Prices go up quietly.

Chicken does not jump 14% in one day. It goes up ₱5, then ₱10, then ₱10 again. Each rise looks too small to worry about, so the price on your menu stays the same.

Four rises later you are keeping less from every plate you sell — and you usually find out only when the month has already closed badly.

How it works

It does the hard maths for you.

01

You don't get to use the whole kilo

You buy 1 kg of onion for ₱100. After peeling, only 850 g is left to cook with. PlateCost divides by what you can actually use, so 100 g in a recipe costs ₱11.76 — not the ₱10 a simple divide would give you. Set this once and every dish with onion is correct from then on.

85% → 850 g
So one gram costs

02

Your sauce is a recipe too

The adobo braising liquid is its own recipe. One litre costs ₱107.44, and Chicken Adobo uses 350 ml of it — so it adds ₱37.60. When garlic gets more expensive, the sauce costs more, and then every dish made with that sauce costs more. PlateCost follows the whole chain. It also stops you putting a recipe inside itself.

Chicken Adobo₱82.04 per serving

03

See what will change before you save it

Type in the new prices your supplier gave you. Before anything is saved, PlateCost shows you every dish that will cost more, what its new food cost will be, and which dishes go past your target. Say yes and the whole menu updates at once.

Made for real kitchens

Works without internet.

Signal is worst in the stockroom, in cold storage, and at the market — the exact places you need to check a price. PlateCost keeps your whole business on your phone, so adding recipes and changing prices work the same with or without a connection.

  • Add it to your home screen like an app
  • Open it with no signal and everything is there
  • Change a price and all your dishes update on the spot
  • When signal comes back, your changes upload on their own

Common questions

Do I need internet to use it?
No. Your business is saved on your own device, so every part of it works without a connection — including making recipes and changing prices. Your changes upload by themselves once you have signal again.
I buy in kilos but cook in grams.
Enter it the way your supplier sells it, then use whatever unit makes sense in the recipe. PlateCost converts weight, volume and pieces. If a conversion is not real — a “pack” has no fixed size — it tells you instead of guessing.
Can I use a sauce inside other dishes?
Yes, as many levels deep as you need. Change one ingredient in the sauce and every dish made with it is recalculated. A recipe can never be put inside itself.
Can I use it outside the Philippines?
Yes. You choose your currency when you set up, and every amount follows it. PHP, USD, AUD, SGD and more.
Will small rounding errors build up?
No. Money is stored as exact decimals, not the kind of number that drifts, and rounding only happens where you can see it. The maths has an automatic test suite covering conversions, waste, margins and price changes.
What if I go over the free limit?
Nothing is lost. You keep every recipe you have made and can still edit and reprice them. You just cannot add new dishes until you upgrade.

Are you making money on that dish?

Add a few ingredients, build one recipe, and you will know in the next five minutes.
